Allyship group
This 10-week group offers a framework for initiating the exploration of racial identity development and cultural competency for individuals seeking to engage antiracism work. Facilitators will: 1) create a safe and welcoming space for processing experiences and reactions to recent cultural and societal shifts; 2) explore racial identity and privilege; 3) increase awareness of the intersectional connections between bias, dehumanization and discrimination; 4) explore links between inaction and injustice and the particular effects on marginalized communities; 5) examine racial blunders in the growth process and how to recover from them; and 6) introduce individuals to self-care strategies to support the allyship journey.
